Week 8 the final week

This week My Client was Sharp in Jabal Ali

The first day: The client was close so I went to DSO office (the main office for ICE department) .In DSO office I did casting

The second day: 4-Apr-11
1- Purchases and Payment –TOC
2- Payroll-TOC

The third day: 5-Apr-11
1- Payroll –Testing
2- Leaver-TOC
3- Bank reconciliation -TOC


The fourth day: 6-Apr-11
1- Fixed assets Additional
2- Inventory Valuation –WACC and NRV testing
The fifth day: 7-april-11


1- Inputting the information from the Excel sheets, to the final report.


After my work was done in Sharp ,I went to DSO office to return the laptop ,then I thanked Amina Jawed for everything and said goodbye .

Week 7

In this week I worked for Qanawate

First day: 27-Mar-11
The things I did:
1- HR –Process related to Payroll
2- Checking bank reconciliation


The second day: 28-Mar-11
1- Payment Voucher –TOC


The Third day: 29-Mar-11
1- Receipt –TOC

*They informed me that they will change my client because I was needed in another client
*They HR department send an e-mail that tomorrow will be half day holiday because of the match between Pakistan and India ,and because I was not feeling well I informed my Amina Jawed that I will come to my new client (in Jabal Ali) tomorrow

Week 6

Since there was no client for me at this week I stayed on DSO office (the main office for ICE department)

First day: I received Arabic contracts attached with other agreements and I have to translated only the part that talk about the revenue and the period to English

Second day: I check the calculation for one of the final audit report.

Third day: They inform me that I have a client on Jabel Ali it was Came Gulf for electronic gates .I went there for and the work also was checking calculation for the final report.

Forth day: I was at the DSO again because my supervisor and I again did the checking for the calculation for several final reports.

Fifth day : all the student who came for work placement were asked to attended the meeting in Emirates Tower the meeting was about seeing if we had problems with our work or the environment of the work and what we did so far. In the meeting I talked about changing the client since it’s too fare join asked me to inform the manager that responsible of distribution auditor to the client. After the meeting I inform the manager about plotting me to a different client, after a while she plotted me to Qanawate in media city for the next week .Since I have absolutely no work I was allowed to go home.

Week 5

The first day: 13-Mar-11

The second day: 14-Mar-11
1- Revenue test of control for Media for the month October ,November ,December
2- Revenue test of control for Production for the month October, November,December
3- JV testing for the month October, November, December.

The third day: 15-Mar-11
1- Purchase and payment and Expenses test of control
2- Fixed assets additional
3- legal expenses

The fourth day: 16-Mar-11
1- Period 13
2- made a softcopy of Client Details with comparatives
3- checking if the calculation is right in the final report of audit

The fifth day 17-Mar-11
1- RP –Account Payable – Circularisation
2- RP –Account Receivable – Circularisation
3- continuing the checking the calculation for the final audit report.

Week 4

I went with my team members to our next client which was ELS golf club. The finical Manager introduced us to the finance department and informed his staff to provide any information that we request.

The first day at: 6-Mar-11
1- I made the (to do list) for auditing ELS club.
2- Bank receipts cut off

Second day: 7-Mar-11
1- Revenue cut off
2- Revenue test of control
3- Bank payment cut off

Third day: 8-Mar-11
1- Bank reconciliation test of control
2- fixed assets test of details

Fourth day: 9-Mar-11
1- period 13
2- Purchase cut off
3- test of control for joiners , leavers and payroll

Fifth day: 10-March -11
1- Inventory issue
2- Inventory procurement ELS.


Since that was the last day for auditing ELS club, the finical manager give us a tour around ELS club and give us information about the golf and about their club.
It was decided that my next client will be TBWA /RAAD advertising company.

The skills I used are the commination skill (talking to the client and requesting information),and IT skills like Excel .

my work experience Week 1

The first day:
I met Joni in Emirates Tower she talk to me about the department what each of them do .Then she give me a personal profile sheet to complete at home and a brochure about the KPMG .and told me to go home because there is nothing for me to do .later she send me a massage to meet her at Emirates Tower at 9:00 am on Monday .No work

The second day:
Joni gathered all the students who came for work placement and talk to us about the company and distributed us to the departments. Then they give us laptop to use for the work and made us sing a sheet that we will not reveal anything because we as auditors have access to very confidential documents. Joni asked us to meet our Team member on DSO then go to the client. No work

Third day:
I went to DSO in IT Plaza .they told me my first client is Emitec and my team is already there so I have to go to Emitec.
The department I work in is International, communication and Entertainment, My first Task in Emitec was:
1- Revenue and test of control

2- Cut of is taking the last 5 invoices from 2010 and the first 5 invoices form 2011 and make sure they are in Sequence . For example if they provide the fourth and the sixth invoices the auditors will ask for the fifth and the reason for not providing it. Any excuses like we lost the invoices or we don’t have it is not acceptable .this is the one of the ways that the audit company protect the client’s company form fraud.

I get along with my team so well ,they are so friendly they explain anything that I do not now .they encourage me to ask question if I don’t know. The things I like about my job as an entry is that you do like everything in accounting if you work as auditor so it will be a very good experience. For my first week, I still don’t have something I don’t like about my job. I try my best to understand what I have to do if they give me a task to do ,I ask a lot of questions if I have any doubt to make sure I did the task accurately . IT skills is important because all the work done in Excel.




Forth day:

1- Reversal Revenue
2- Legal and professional expenses
3- checking the cash and the statement and bank reconciliations
